Disk Utility – partition shows as a folder with a ‘no entry’ sign

Morning,

I’ve been assessing a client’s machine as it has been booting to a blue screen. The problem has now been resolved but I came across a bit of a curiosity while looking into it. Viewing the client’s HD ion Disk Utility showed the drive’s single partition as a folder with a no-entry sign over it, rather than the usual HD icon. It’s a fairly standard 2TB WD hard drive, Mac OS Extended (journaled) format. FileVault was not enabled but this particular client is an inveterate tinkerer.

Any idea what this means? Sorry, due to the generally farked nature of the machine, I couldn’t get a screenshot.

Cheers.
