Attempted to use boot camp to remove Windows and it froze during the process. Upon getting it to start again, it’s showing error box when using boot camp…
1. Start boot camp assistant
2. Click continue past info screen
3. Next screen pops up dialog box with OK button
‘The startup desk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition. The startup desk must be formatted in single Mac OS extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows.’
4. The only option is to ‘Download the latest Windows support software from Apple’.
Upon using disk utility, it shows on the left…
HDD Icon – 320.07 GB Hitachi
HDD Icon – Macintosh HD
CD icon – Superdrive
–Solid line splitting section–
HDD/CD icon – disk 1
Book icon? – OS X Base System
disk 1 and OS X base system both show 1.27 GB capacity. The Macintosh HD shows only 277 GB capacity with 1.2 GB free.
Any ideas on how to get back the missing 43 GB into a single partition?
Thanks in advance!
